July 10 - Off to London

We spent the morning working on photos and the blog in our “office”, the pub at the hotel we have been staying at in Canterbury.  After lunch we drove the hour+ to Gatwick Airport where we dropped off the car.  Then it was onto a train for the trip into London Victoria station.

We opted to take the Tube to our hotel instead of a taxi.  Sort of a mistake.  A big mistake.  We keep forgetting that the stations often don’t have lifts or elevators…so we were struggling with our too much, too heavy luggage.  However, the other travelers on the Tube were awesome…they often just swooped in and grabbed luggage for us to take it to the top of (or bottom of) the flight of stairs.

We finally hit the hotel about 6:00pm…just in time to go out to dinner with Jim and Phyllis, at GBK.
