First
thing today we headed down to Leicester Square where we spent quite a while
with George, the reservation guy at a discount theater ticket place. He was so helpful. We booked four shows, then went out to lunch
to kill time until our first show.
Next stop was the Bank Of England to change our old English pounds for new ones. Only the person changing the money was allowed in the bank so Jim and Mary headed in with their money.
Then it was back to the theater area where we wandered around a bit and enjoyed the street scene.

These two statues are not statues at all but mean in full "costume", looking for tips. They both have a hidden prop device that allows them to look basically suspended in air.
Almost every pub with a TV on had a mob outside the doors and windows trying to catch the World Cup Soccer match. England was doing very well and everyone wanted to see the games.
We decided to have lunch in the area and settled on The Nags Head pub, established in 1827 so in theory it must be good.
The food was good but the women's restroom was awesome.
They also have a sense of humor...check out the clock for Sydney Australia.
First show was 42nd Street, an old musical with a thin plot but awesome music and dance routines. We all through enjoyed it.
Afterwards we went to the Theater Café to exchange our vouchers for free drinks and dessert. It was a mob and loud but at least we found seats.
Our
evening show was The Lieutenant of
Inishmore, a very funny and very dark comedy centered around the “Irish
Situation”. We all agreed that it was
intense, funny and thought provoking.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
After
a late dinner it was back to the hotel and bed.
